Ticket Fraud | Counterfeiting at the Stadium

In August 2014, the BVB Fan World opened next to the Westfalenstadion (Signal Iduna Park), offering everything a supporter’s heart could desire – from merchandising, ticket sales, travel agency services and stadium tours to more than 1,000 fan items. On average, around 12,000 fans purchase BVB merchandise here before and after each match. With all the affection – almost love – that supporters show towards their BVB when cheering on the team together in the stadium, one might assume that one fan would not wish to harm another, as they share the same passion. And yet there are regularly crooks who defraud supporters with duplicate tickets or steal from them during the crowds inside the stadium and at the entrance gates. The criminal investigation department, security staff and our private detectives in Dortmund are unfortunately confronted with such cases time and again.
